July 4th, 2011 MAHES No comments

We are in a transitional stage in the world of smartphones that will lead us towards a new generation (although it sounds a broken record or “déjà vu” total utter this statement). No one goes unnoticed media power (and technically, of course) of new dual-core terminals such as Sensation HTC, LG Optimus 2X or ultra-wanted-for-all Galaxy Samsung SII, which is poised to become the Nokia 3310 today.

Sony Ericsson is aware of the change, and as a good participant in the ”movement” Android is shows us his new proposal to be in tune with the other companies, this new beast called SonyEricsson Xperia Duo.

The truth is, no surprise, since it is a terminal that we saw inpictures leaked last June, but now when we know its possible final specifications, and the truth is that will make you fly the hat more than one, has been late, but they have come!
Our fellow Engadget translated to us as follows:

Dual-Core Processor 1.4GHz, two names are being considered, aQualcomm MSM8260, premiered at the HTC Sensation. Or a stranger NovaThor A9500, ST Ericsson, which uses a pair of ARMCortex-A9 cores, and Mali-400 GPU, as the Galaxy S2.
The screen goes to the 4.5-inch high-resolution QHD. We understand that bet on the latest technology of the firm, such asSony Bravia Mobile.

2.500mAh battery.
12 megapixel camera.
1.5GB of RAM.
I do not know about you, but I look at my AMD K6 ago 8 / 10 years and was fall two tears of disbelief, and did not tell you if I look at my first Alcatel / brick.

We know nothing more about it, although it is said that his arrival inthe major markets is planned for September. What a ”back to school” ahead.

From Nokia N9 Nokia say they will support a number of years

Nokia N9

We are interested in the topic, knowing that the Nokia N9 is not in our country , at least initially, because Nokia has decided that our land is better to put Windows Phone 7 .

The question that many of us is how long we will support the operating system Nokia Meegan , rather his version Harmattan, considering that Nokia N9 is the only example.

From Nokia, and mouth Klas Ström , one of the visible heads of the Marketing division of the Finnish firm, has launched a tweet for those interested in revitalizing Meegan .

Nokia N9

It informs us that “will stand for years,” and we find different updates in this way. For him, there is no reason to worry.

As proof that the thing does not stop walking, we see that development forums are new. The lack of landscape orientation in the system seems to have its days numbered, as you can see from the pictures, and that this provision makes sense in the Nokia N950 .

Nokia Phone adopt Windows 7 on their smartphones (Updated: Meegan and Symbian remain standing)

February 6th, 2011 MAHES No comments

Nokia con Windows Phone 7

Officially confirmed what was already an open secret: the Finnish company Nokia Phone will start using Windows 7 operating system for most of their smart phones . The confirmation comes through a press release from Microsoft itself.

Broadly speaking, the agreement speaks to what we already know that Nokia smart phones with Windows manufacture and distribute Phone 7 globally. But more than that. Apparently you want to achieve a complete synergy in the mobile (not going to be) also integrating ancillary services to smart phones itself.

An example of this is that Microsoft joined Nokia Maps within its mapping service . We know that despite Bing Maps offers a good service in the U.S. and other countries leaves much to be desired in other markets such as Latin America. So it makes sense that Microsoft decides to take advantage of the overall service offered by Nokia in this regard. And it is worth highlighting that this integration will not only maps in Windows Phone, but will affect Bing Maps in general.

Nokia y Microsoft

In addition, Nokia will use Bing as default browser in all its services and products , not just smart phones but also online services and “feature phones.” In addition, Microsoft will use Nokia contracts with operators to facilitate payments in the Marketplace with charges to the phone bill.

Finally, Nokia says it will integrate the content of the store OVI in the Microsoft Marketplace .This is a bit confusing, as all these apps are designed for Symbian, so it would have little future in this new scenario. Unlike the case of the music store Ovi , the content could easily be added to the Zune Marketplace.

But beyond these details, there is little doubt that we are dealing with a story that marked a before and after this “war of the smart phones , will have to wait and see how things evolve.

Update: As Engadget mentioned that Nokia does not plan to kill any of the operating systems that currently work. Meegan will be an experimental platform in which will continue to work now and in the long run, while Symbian will leave as a franchise, while still providing support to users of this system.

February 1st, 2011 MAHES No comments

gdocs-sobre-windows-phone-sieteIs now available on Marketplace GDocs, a document viewer for Google Docs in the Windows operating system Phone 7. This first version is rather basic as it can display and store the documents locally hosted in the cloud.

The application is a simple client for consulting documents, spreadsheets, presentations, drawings and forms. As interesting options include “download all”, ease of use and encryption of the password before being stored. The issue is not yet implemented , or in remote or local, but is expected to incorporate this feature soon.

This application, though simple, can be very useful for visualizing data from anywhere and once stored, accessed off-line. You should download it as soon as possible because at the moment is free but limited time .
